Palin's earmarks were on McCain's "objectionable" list

Several times during Palin's tenure as mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, McCain included some of her federal earmarks on his list of "objectionable" pork spending.

As mayor, Palin hired a Washington lobbying firm to help secure $27 million in federal funding for her town of approx. 6000 residents. Prior to her election as mayor, there is little public record of the town ever pursuing federal funding.

As governor, she has secured around $300 in federal earmarks per Alaskan resident, the highest per capita amount of all 50 states.

So keep that in mind as Palin talks about her record tonight... the story the GOP is painting doesn't necessarily include all the facts!
