Palin... reformer credentials?

It's sounding less and less like Sarah Palin is the strong government reformer that McCain has been trying to describe her as.

For example, while she was mayor of a town of around 6000 people, she employed a lobbying firm in Washington, D.C., and secured almost $27 million in federal earmarks.

She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it.

She worked for the indicted Senator Ted Stevens' 527 group.

Apparently she was a member of the Alaska Independence Party which supports Alaska's secession from the U.S.

And amazingly... McCain sent a team to Alaska to vet Palin 72 hours after he had announced her selection. The Wasilla city clerk, where Palin served as mayor, told a reporter who asked for copies of meeting agendas, etc. that she was the first person to ask for anything on Palin's tenure!

More here.

UPDATE

John McCain calls this vetting?

Pushing back aggressively against charges of lax or hasty vetting, the McCain campaign disclosed Tuesday that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was one of six finalists for running mate who filled out a 70-question form that included detailed personal, professional and financial probing.

The campaign says the form included such detailed questions as: Have you been faithful in your marriage? Have you ever paid for sex? Have you ever downloaded pornography? Have you ever used or purchased drugs?

That's how he decided this woman was ready to uphold the Constitution and lead America???
