Day after Super Tuesday: "Our time has come"
Watch the video of Obama's stirring speech last night: listening to him, I just had such a strong sense that this man is going to be our next President.
He acknowledges all of us who are supporting him as the true agents of change: "We are the ones we've been waiting for."
And note his message to people who have not yet joined this movement: "We need you."
(If you don't have time to watch the whole video, skip ahead to the 14 minute mark. Obama's re-counting of the first meeting he planned as a community organizer and what kept him going when no one showed up is powerful.)
A variety of links:
- The Obama campaign's assessment of the results and Obama's views on the rest of the primaries in February
- It looks like Obama not only won more states (13 to 8, with New Mexico still too close to call) but also scored more delegates than Hillary. This according to the Obama campaign and NBC, though calculations are still underway (Thanks, Dish) And Marc Ambinder comments on the fact that in many of the states that went to Obama, he won big.
- Andrew Sullivan comments on Obama's executive skills (talk about a masterfully run campaign!)
- My friend Jack sent me a link to a Reed College student's blog which includes a bunch of interesting links related to the presidential race
- My page that includes links to Obama's positions on a wide variety of issues
- UPDATE: CNN is reporting this morning that Hillary and Obama were only separated by 0.4% in their vote totals yesterday
