High tech trash

Thanks to my cousin Levi for passing on this National Geographic article about all of the computers and other equipment that we throw away...

It's bad enough that we consume and discard so much crap, even worse that so much of it is filled with toxics. (And if you think dumping it overseas will help, think again.)

Which reminds me of something else I read: the car you are driving is always the best one for the environment, even if it's a gas guzzler. The environmental impact and resource usage of manufacturing a replacement always trumps the impact of just keeping the one you already own.
