Republicans sue to stop Troopergate

The Republicans have orchestrated a campaign to stop the Troopergate investigation into whether Palin abused her power as governor to get her brother-in-law fired, claiming that that investigation is "tainted."

But remember the facts:

  • The investigation began before Palin was picked by McCain to be his running mate.
  • The Alaska Legislative Council voted unanimously to begin the investigation. Must be full of Democrats, right? Wrong! The Council has eight Republicans and four Democrats.
  • The Council decided to spend up to $100,000 on this investigation. They meant business.

What does Palin the reformer have to hide? Why would eight of her fellow Republicans vote in favor of this investigation in July if there was no evidence that this was worth pursuing?

I'm guessing that Americans are going to start asking themselves these questions...
