How did McCain find Sarah Palin?

I've been wondering that, given the fact that he had apparently met her for only 15 minutes before following up with a second meeting (and invitation to be his running mate) several weeks later.

Here may be the answer: Palin took a chartered cruise organized by the conservative Weekly Standard in June of 2007. Apparently she caught someone's eye as a potential vehicle for furthering the neoconservative agenda.
