More on the tornado that hit Manhattan, Kansas

From the Manhattan Mercury.

The tornado was an EF4, the second worst category. And I had forgotten that Kansas State has a nuclear engineering program with a nuclear reactor on campus. Luckily, no problems with it, though the building housing it was hit and damaged.

My nieces were both out of town, so my sister had to spend a couple of hours in the basement alone. She said having internet access and television down there made a big difference.
