Prospects for a public health insurance option are improving

The Washington Post is reporting that there's been a remarkable turnaround in Congress with respect to the chances of passing a healthcare reform bill that includes a public option. Why? Members of Congress are concluding that a public option may be the best way to bring down the nation's healthcare costs.

It's about time...although one wonders what back-room deals are being made that won't come to light until after a health-reform bill is passed. Too bad that whatever bill is passed is lilely to be watered-down and nowhere near its original spirit or intent....I hope that is not the case....however, with everything lined in Obama's favor, including control of both houses, I wish less there was less effort at the outset top pay lip-service to bipartisanship....
