Voting issues ahead of the November 7 election

The election is a week from tomorrow, and given the narrow margins we've seen in the past few elections, the integrity of our electoral system really matters. Here are a few stories and articles I've encountered recently.

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. wrote "Will the Next Election Be Hacked" for Rolling Stone which details questionable practices by Diebold, one of the biggest manufacturers of electronic voting machines. In some states, they have even been hired to run the entire electoral process. Frightening!

From BlackBoxVoting.org, a piece on the potential hiccups that can prevent your absentee vote from not being counted.

And today on NPR's The Diane Rehm Show, a discussion of how well the midterm elections are expected to go with respect to new technologies and procedures.
